State Department Consular Information Program Site Improved

On Monday (January 7), the State Department launched a modernized version of the Bureau of Consular Affairs website, Travel.State.Gov. The look and feel of the site has been redesigned and the information repackaged making it easier for Americans planning to travel abroad to access key documents and putting the documents in user-friendly formats. According to the Media Note announcing the upgrade of the Department’s Consular Information Program:

Reports on current conditions in all nations, previously known as Consular Information Sheets, are now known as Country Specific Information. Reports about conditions that are expected to be of limited duration and scope, previously known as Public Announcements, are now titled Travel Alerts.
